The Los Angeles Park Ranger Mounted Foundation is a recognized 501(c)(3) public charity formed in April 2026. It is a public charity formed by passionate community members for a specific purpose; supporting, developing, fundraising, and advocating for the advancement and prosperity of the Los Angeles City Park Ranger Mounted Unit and Park Ranger Mounted patrol functions within the parks system of the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks. This is a group of board members, advocates, and volunteers that work together to help further the Los Angeles Park Ranger Mounted Unit within our Los Angeles city community and 400+ park system.

The Los Angeles City Park Rangers are a small group of approximately 30 peace officers for the City of Los Angeles. A few of the Park Rangers are given the task of performing patrol functions on horseback along equestrian trails and help bring the community together by sharing the love of all things equestrian at public events. 

The Los Angeles Park Ranger Mounted Foundation was formed out of necessity. Without its support the future of Park Ranger officer Mounted Patrol functions and community engagement and programming would not be possible. 

The Los Angeles Park Ranger Mounted Foundation has been designated as a public charity status of 170(b)(1)(A)(vi)
